Elbo Room Saturday with Sambadá - December 22, 2006

Carne Crudies:

The Bay Area is in luck this Saturday night, December 23rd, because everyone’s favorite Latin Surf-Cumbia All-Style band, Carne Cruda, is teaming up with Afro-Brazilian funksters Sambadá to throw a rocking dance party at the Elbo Room in San Francisco. That’s right, you heard correctly, a whole wild night of dancing and general mayhem at SF’s hotspot with two of the rockingest bands around.

If you haven’t heard Sambada’s new album, you’ve got to check it out, since members of Carne Cruda play on it, and rumor has it that there will be plenty of inter-band exchanges and some sort of band-merging jammy-jams and the possible temporary formation of an uber-band, Carne-Samba-Cru-Dá. Let’s just say you won’t want to miss it, and in fact this is the place to be this Saturday night. See you there! You’ll also get the opportunity to hear some of Carne Cruda’s new material, and for a sneak preview check out a new track, Oakland’s Tight, that’s up on our website here:

See you Saturday night.

Carne Cruda is going to El Salvador - September 24, 2006

To My Carne Crudies:

Wow, there are so many exciting happenings in the world of Carne Cruda. First off, we’re playing a show this Monday, Sept. 25 at the Elbo Room in San Francisco, only $5 and it’s $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon night with 3 other great bands. We really hope to see you there, it’s going to be lots of fun.

The next really exciting news for Carne Cruda is, we’ve been invited to El Salvador by the FMLN to play at the “Primer Encuentro por la paz, la seguridad, y la justicia: Encendemos la luz y la ezperanza” in San Salvador, playing with some other really great bands including the really famous and important group from Venezuela, Los Guaraguao. The FMLN has been generous enough to provide us with four plane tickets to El Salvador, but the only problem is, we need one more to bring the whole band. So, we’re trying to raise funds any way we can, and we’re accepting donations and fund raising ideas for the “Send Carne Cruda to El Salvador in Solidarity with the Salvadoran People” fund, or the SCCTESISWTSP fund.

Also, we’re in the process of recording a new album, with the working title “Oakland’s Tight,” and we’ll be playing some of the brand new songs at the show this Monday night at the Elbo Room in San Francisco, where we’ll be sharing the bill with one of our favorite bands, The Los Shoegazers, who’s unique brand of Indie-Mock never fails to amuse us, as well as the bands Bajo Presion and Los Burbanks.

To add to the excitement, we are happy to announce that we will be playing at the 25th Annual Encuentro del Canto Popular, one of the most important festivals of new Latin-American music, so we hope you all come out to that one, too, on December 9th at the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco. For a complete list of our upcoming shows, check out our website, www.carnecruda.com, and be sure to enter all of your friends’ emails into the little box there so we can let them know too. Also, you can be our virtual “friend” on the ubiquitous MySpace.com/carnecruda where you can hear our tunes and see when we’re playing next.

See you all at the Elbo Room, and remember, DLTMKYD.

Signed,

The Los Carne Crudeboys (and Crudegirl)
